Statewide First Responder Organizations: Florida Professional Firefighters Association, Florida Medical Association and Florida Police Benevolent Association, endorsed Ramon Alexander for State Representative House District 8.
The Florida Professional Firefighters, Inc. (FPF) is a State Association chartered by the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC. The FPF was formed January 11, 1944, by six (6) IAFF locals. Currently, FPF is comprised of 150 local affiliates and councils, with a membership of over 24,000 Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services Personnel, working in 175 departments within the various state, county, municipal, and special district governments of Florida, with an annual budget of over $2,000,000.
Founded in 1874, the Florida Medical Association (FMA) is a professional association dedicated to the service and assistance of Doctors of Medicine and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida. The FMA represents more than 20,000 physicians on issues of legislation and regulatory affairs, medical economics and education, public health, and ethical and legal issues. They also advocate for physicians and their patients to promote the public health, ensure the highest standards of medical practice, and to enhance the quality and availability of health care in the Sunshine State.
Established in 1972, The Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is an independently operated association of professional Law Enforcement, Correctional, and Correctional Probation Officers who work in the state of Florida. The PBA’s membership is roughly 36,000 strong and stretches from Pensacola to Key West.
